    Mental health affects us all. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), approximately one in five adults in the United States experiences mental illness in a given year. Mental health challenges can impact anyone, regardless of age, gender, race, or socioeconomic status. Unfortunately, stigma and lack of access to mental health services often prevent people from seeking the help they need.

    Mental Health Awareness Month provides an opportunity to address these challenges and to promote mental wellness. It’s a time to educate ourselves and others about mental health, to challenge stigma, and to promote access to mental health services.

    One way to promote mental health awareness is to prioritize our own mental health and well-being. This includes taking care of our physical health, engaging in activities that bring us joy, and seeking support when we need it. We can also support others by checking in on friends and loved ones, listening without judgment, and encouraging them to seek help if needed.

By promoting mental wellness and reducing stigma, we can create a more supportive and inclusive society that values the importance of mental health.
